Invisible Battles

Anyone that knows me knows I swear by Orange Theory Fitness. While I can be meticulous about certain things in life, I definitely lack discipline when it comes to working out.

I’ve been back at it for a few months now and I’m so glad I wanted until I was mentally ready. For as long as I can remember I’ve always struggled with body image and the problem with that is it doesn’t matter how you look if your mind can’t see your own beauty. For anyone who has had similar experiences you know that there are peaks and valleys. Sometimes you feel too big or too small, too tall or too short, too much of this or too little of that. Regardless it’s a messed up mind game that doesn’t only affect young girls and boys, but grown men and woman as well.

After having my son I decided that rather than focus on reclaiming a false image of what I think I should look like, I’d wait until I was ready to pursue an active lifestyle that built mental, spiritual, and physical strength. In this season of life I choose to conquer the mind game before the physical one.

I share this with hope that it reminds you that everyone has insecurities and we are all fighting invisible battles. Take time to speak life into people because you never know how your positive promotion may uplift someone fighting a private battle.

I ask that rather express you thanks for my post, we celebrate each other! Tag someone and tell them why you appreciate them!
