How often do you consider all of the “what ifs” in life? Even though we’re told, and often believe, it’s never too late to achieve a goal or start something new in life, it seems as though the actual execution of this concept is rather difficult. In fact, I think we are most often hindered by being over-educated or over-experienced and diminish our aspirations by placing too much emphasis on the “realities” or “responsible” reasons for making our decisions.
I’m not suggesting that you throw caution to the wind and chunk the deuce to your job, but I would suggest that you consider ways to reinvent yourself. Every day I talk to my husband about my latest and greatest idea and every day he listens and gives feedback as though I’m truly going to implement it. However, today he provided me with a new prospective, courtesy of Jim Carey:
So in the spirit of the spring season and new beginnings, I ask, what is something that you love so much that you are willing to fail? Put some fire behind that side hustle you’ve been thinking about, that goal you once had before “real” life took over, or that idea that is crystal clear in your mind, but you’ve never shared with anyone. And remember the most important ally you need is yourself! Once you have that in order, find an accountability partner or two and take a chance on yourself. You may be surprised at how natural things come when they align with your passions and interests.
